I think of computers as tools and as any person that uses tools will tell you: Some tools are useless for the wrong job.
We have a new computer and it's already having issues. Do I download all sorts of porn or games? Nope. What do I use it for? Google blogger and general research crap. Facebook at times but the computer is so slow on that that I've pretty much given up using it.
Today we installed a new anti-virus and it says that it's only good for 146 days. Why such a weird number? I understand paying for the software and paying for updates even but why should I pay for something (Microsoft Office) that's going to be replaced in a year or so anyway.
You buy a book and it's yours, you buy some software and it's kind of yours. It's like a slippery slope on destroying the 9th Amendment.
